V Festival
Justin Bieber and Rhianna headlining, utter shit the rest of the line-up. Used to love going to this when it first started, now a smash hits party festival. I know music has changed since the 90s when V first started (and I'm getting older) but Justin fucking Bieber...that one hurts!!!

I have applied for 2-4-1 tickets through work, if I get them it will make it half bearable.

Me too.

Oasis, Kasabian, Chemical Brothers, The Prodidy, Happy Mondays, Ian Brown, The Specials, The Killers (when they had only released Hot Fuss)..... Could go on.

Plus countless quality DJ's in the dance / Bacardi tents. Had some quality weekends.

It's shit pop now though.

Re: V Festival
I've had some fantastic weekends at Hylands park and witnessed some great bands there too. I have wonderful memories of the V festival, so I wouldn't want to tarnish those memories, by attending a pop festival, whose crowd are a little older than my daughter.

I gave up going to V when they started selling the tickets without announcing who was playing.

I went to the first one with a decent lineup and it had a strong wiff of corporate even then.

Re: V Festival
booked my tickets for Reading before anyone was announced, its a great weekend regardless of who is playing and they'll always be someone on another stage if you don't like who's on the main stage

Sounds like you need to get over it Russell. Don't be ashamed of your queer music tastes son.

Re: V Festival
Every year we get the same thread......V is shot blah blah blah. It used to be a music festival and now it's a pop music festival. Get over it.

Went to the pink toothbrush a couple of months ago.

Don't reckon I hadn't been for 15 years and was one of the youngest people in there aged 41.

Had a great night, though needing picture id to get in was something I hadn't seen before, which probably showed how long it had been since I've been clubbing as I don't carry any.

Never into festivals and bieber? Ha ha

Went to a few others and also worked a few managing DJ's.
Did all the festivals back then though Glasto, Big Chill, Essential etc
One of the best was Homelands near Winchester we did one with P.E, Ian Brown, Oakenfold, Moby etc absolutely pissed down as well, was always on May Bank Holiday.

Who the Fuck still had faith in V Festival? It died about 9 years ago. Biebs is the only thing making me consider it for the first time since then.
